This is the day that the Lord has made

let us rejoice and be glad in it!

For those who mourn their dead:  let us bring them comfort.

For those who have suffered loss:  let us be the repairers of their goods.

For those who are afraid:  let us give them courage.

For those who are lost:  let us be their guides.

For those who are bewildered:  let us bring them hope.

For those who despair:  let us give them insight.

In all things, let us be the agents of our God who holds all creation, and who binds up, and who makes whole, and who gives life.

Amen.

  2. Thank you both.

Just my meditation on Isaiah 58:9-12, actually.

And on hearing the "Christian Singles" ad one too many times, about waiting for God to act (as if we are ever supposed to sit passively and wait for God to "take care of things" for us).

    But mostly Isaiah.
